Gentle, personalised care to help support mobility and ease joint-related discomfort.

What Causes Arthritis?

Understanding Arthritis and Its Impact

Osteoarthritis (wear and tear on joints):

Gradual wear of cartilage over time can lead to bone-on-bone contact, resulting in joint pain, inflammation, and stiffness.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (autoimmune inflammation):

A condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks joint tissue, causing pain, swelling, and long-term joint damage. If you’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, speak to your GP or specialist to discuss the best care options for your condition.

Joint Inflammation and Stiffness:

Chronic inflammation can lead to stiffness, reducing joint flexibility and function.

Cartilage Breakdown:

As cartilage degrades, joints lose their cushioning, leading to reduced flexibility and discomfort during movement.

Fantastic team, booked in end of 2024 for my first appointment after having major back pain, best thing I've ever done, the assessment was thorough and everything explained by Johnny to help come up with a plan to help with any issues I have. The reception stsff and always friendly and inviting, now that theyve expanded to add all different treatments and specialities I will be utilising even more, 100 percent would recommend phoenix health hub and Johnny to everyone

After having severe upper back and neck pain and lack of sleep it has caused me for a few months and only getting kicked down the NHS queue, I had no choice but to get help privately.

After looking for local Physio's I saw Pheonix, realised they were in the centre of town with easy parking and 5* ratings, I thought I'd give them a call, half expecting not to get an appointment for a week or two.

I called in and the amazing receptionist was helpful and understanding to my situation and to my amazement she managed to get me seen within a couple of hours.

I was booked in to see Diogo, who was extremely thorough with his diagnosis and questioning and after about 20 minutes he was getting to work on untangling the mess my neck and upper back is in. Diogo is a Physio Magician.

I feel so relieved that I am in the hands of a totally professional and friendly organisation and now on my road to recovery.

I can honestly say I would give them a 6-star rating if I could.

Catherine has been brilliant - she took time to listen carefully, explain what was going on, in clear terms and create a treatment plan to suit my needs.
I have seen a real improvement. My pain has decreased and my posture feels much better. I have a clearer understanding of how to look after my body moving forwards.
Thanks Catherine.

Kind, friendly environment right from when you walk through the door. As for treatment, I have found Harpa to be gentle and attentive in a calm, relaxing environment, always reassuring and checking before starting. I would recommend Harpa at Phoenix for your back issues as after every session, I walk away my usual self.

Chiropractic FAQs

Some answers to common questions we get asked...

Can chiropractic care help with arthritis pain?

Chiropractic care may help support mobility and relieve musculoskeletal tension in people living with arthritis. While it doesn’t treat the condition itself, gentle manual therapy can assist in managing joint stiffness and improving comfort.

We recommend speaking with your GP or specialist before beginning chiropractic care if you have a diagnosed arthritic condition.

Is chiropractic care safe for arthritis sufferers?

Chiropractic care may be appropriate for some people living with arthritis, depending on their individual needs. Our chiropractors adapt techniques to your comfort and mobility, using gentle methods to support joint function and ease tension where possible.

Will I experience immediate pain relief from arthritis with chiropractic care?

Everyone responds differently to chiropractic care. Some people with arthritis-related stiffness or discomfort may feel a sense of relief within a few visits, while others may notice more gradual changes. Your chiropractor will tailor your care plan to your individual needs and comfort level.

Can chiropractic adjustments prevent arthritis from worsening?

Chiropractic care can help support joint mobility and ease musculoskeletal tension, which may assist in managing discomfort over time.

Will I need to continue treatment indefinitely?

Some people with arthritis-related stiffness or discomfort choose to continue care because they feel it helps support their mobility and comfort. Your chiropractor will always work with you to create a care plan that fits your goals and preferences — whether short-term or ongoing.
