Gait Scan, Your Feet are your Foundations

Why is it important to examine my feet?

Your feet serve as the foundation for your entire body. Just like a house relies on strong foundations, your posture and movement depend on how well your feet function.

Every step you take affects the mechanics of your ankles, knees, hips, and spine. When foot joints don’t move optimally, it can change the way you walk—leading to stress or imbalance in other parts of the body over time.

This altered movement may contribute to discomfort or strain in joints higher up the chain, including the knees, pelvis, back, or neck.

“Your feet are your foundation.”
Because the body is interconnected, an imbalance in one area can influence movement throughout the rest.

Book a Gait Assessment at Phoenix Health Hub

Catherine Crane (Chiropractor), our in-house lower limb and orthotic specialist, provides thorough assessments of the feet, knees, and hips. This includes a detailed consultation and a Gait Scan, using our state-of-the-art pressure mapping technology.

Gait Scan

What Is a Gait Scan?

The Gait Scan uses a pressure-sensitive plate that captures thousands of data points as you walk across it. This process measures how pressure is distributed under your feet in real time.

The data is converted into a 2D and 3D image of your foot pressure, helping us understand your gait patterns and identify any imbalances. This information is uploaded to your Phoenix Health Hub app, where your progress and any prescriptions can be tracked.

Catherine will assess the scan alongside a physical examination to determine whether orthotic support, exercise, or manual therapy may be appropriate for you.

What Are Orthotics?

Orthotics are customised insoles worn inside your footwear. They’re designed to support foot posture and optimise movement by gently correcting joint alignment in the feet.

At Phoenix Health Hub, we offer a range of prescription orthotics tailored to your lifestyle—from everyday use to high-impact sports.

How Can Orthotics Help?

Orthotics may support better alignment and provide more balanced movement, which some individuals find helpful in:

  • Enhancing comfort during walking or standing

  • Reducing strain on knees, hips, or lower back

  • Supporting posture and stability alongside chiropractic care

Orthotics for Every Lifestyle

We offer orthotic solutions for different activity levels:

  • Low impact – everyday walking or standing

  • Medium impact – general fitness or moderate activity
