Signs and Symptoms

●      Stiffness in hip

●      Difficulty climbing stairs/walking

●      Stiffness and pain with prolonged inactivity

Advice

●      Try not to cross legs as this can put pressure on hip and the muscles on the side of the hip

●      Pop a pillow in between your legs when lying on the side.

Exercises

Hip capsule Stretch

●      Get a resistance band, a blue band is recommended.

●      Lay down and put the band on top of the thigh and put the other end on a stable non moving object

●      Bring the leg up and hold it for 20 seconds

●      Do the same for the other hip if required

Hip Flexor Stretch

●      Sit right on the edge of a bed

●      Bring up one knee and lean backwards until you are lying down

●      Make sure to keep the back flat and knee bent

●      Hold for 15 seconds

●      Change sides and bring the other knee up

●      Do this once a day
